A seemantha is a seated function — the same occasion many families call a baby shower, a seemantham, or valaikappu. The guest of honour is pregnant, many of the guests are elderly, and most of the afternoon is spent sitting down — which makes the things that are easy to overlook the things that matter most. The hall is centrally air-conditioned throughout rather than in patches, the restrooms are on the same floor as the function, and there is a lift rather than a staircase between the entrance and the hall.
If your family's observance includes a homa, it is permitted in the designated areas of the hall, so the ritual can be performed properly rather than adapted around the venue.
The main hall is centrally air-conditioned throughout, with the seating arranged close to the stage so a smaller gathering does not feel lost in it. The dining hall is a separate room with its own serving access, so the meal is laid and cleared without interrupting what is happening next door.
The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils. Our in-house kitchen is available, or your own caterer is welcome to use the space — families who have used the same cook for years bring them, and we work around them either way. Decoration is handled in-house: our own decorator dresses the hall to your brief.
Changing rooms off the main hall give the mother-to-be somewhere to sit away from the gathering, change saree between the ritual and the meal, or simply rest — which over a long morning is the single most appreciated room in the building.
Most families run a function like this on the Half Day package — 12 hours, which covers an early setup, the function itself and the meal after. If relatives are travelling in the night before, the 24-hour package includes 5 + 2 air-conditioned rooms in the same building, and the 36-hour package includes 6 + 2.
The hall is directly opposite the Jayanagar 9th Block old bus stand, with valet parking for around 50 cars, so guests arriving by car, bus or auto are set down at the door. Lift access, 24-hour hot water, changing rooms, 24/7 generator backup, security and CCTV and housekeeping are all on site, and there is no separate electricity charge.
